Glider Implementation Plan for Hypoxia Monitoring in the Gulf of MexicoJune 20, 2014
The 2012 revision of the Gulf of Mexico Monitoring Implementation Plan included the need to hold a workshop to determine the optimal glider design and glider monitoring strategy for temporal/spatial coverage that would complement ship surveys and observing systems. On April 17-19, 2013 the Gulf Hypoxia Glider Application Meeting was held as part of the Forum for Gulf of Mexico Hypoxia Research Coordination and Advancement. The meeting was convened by the NOAA National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science, Northern Gulf Institute, and the NOAA National Data Buoy Center at the Mississippi State University Science and Technology Center at NASA's Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. A White Paper outlining the glider implementation plan were developed from the presentations and discussions that occurred during the forum.
The Glider Implementation Plan for Hypoxia Monitoring in the Gulf of Mexico is made available in its entirety.
