On November 6-12, 2004, the Mississippi State University ERC participated in
"Supercomputing 2004" (SC2004), the annual IEEE/ACM international conference
on high performance computing, networking and storage held in Pittsburgh, PA.
Founded in 1988, this conference series has grown to include scientists,
researchers, software developers, policy makers, corporate managers, CIOs and
IT administrators from universities, industry and government. Attendees had
the opportunity to immerse themselves in the latest state-of-the-field
developments in technology, applications, vendor products, research results,
national policy and national/international initiatives. SC2004 had a
record-setting attendance of nearly of 8000 people.
MSU has had significant involvement in the conference for more than a decade, and for the third consecutive year, the MSU ERC invited the Mississippi Center for Supercomputer Research at the University of Mississippi to participate in their research booth. During the conference, the booth was visited by distinguished guests, including many alumni, researcher partners, and representatives from many of the ERC's funding agencies.
MSU was well represented at the conference where ERC research was displayed among research initiatives at all of the major federal research labs and most of the major research universities in the world.
