OVERVIEW
The Microsystems Prototyping Laboratory (MPL) at Mississippi State University has research interests in the following areas:

• Mixed Signal Systems
• Self-timed Logic for FPGAs
• VHDL (VHSIC hardware description language) modeling, simulation, and test
• Synthesis methodologies for advanced technologies
• High Performance Memory Architectures

A modern design environment using tools from Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor is used to further efforts in these areas. Student researchers associated with MPL faculty members acquire skills in VLSI design, RTL synthesis, high-level modeling, and CAD synthesis algorithms.
