HPC² Student Association
The HPC² Student Association exists to encourage social
and professional interaction among the students who work for CAVS, CCS,
GRI, PET, and SimCenter. In the past, the SA also provided many
valuable services and resources to the students of the
HPC². Some examples are:
- The HPC² Student Association Advisory Board serves as a
liason between the student workers and the administration of the
HPC².
- Representatives of the HPC²SA provide new student workers with
orientation and tutorial information in order to bring them up to speed
more quickly.
- The HPC²SA has maintained an online directory of
students' resumes which is easily accessible from the HPC²SA
website. The resumes were also periodically compiled into a binder for
the convenient browsing of potential employers from companies and
laboratories that work closely with the HPC².
- The HPC²SA organized a seminar series where
HPC² student researchers could share their most recent
progess with an HPC²-wide audience. This series was
particularly useful in helping students prepare for more formal
presentations at conferences.
- The Blue shuttle route from the HPC² to the Union was
started at the request of the HPC²SA.
- And as many of you may recall, the HPC²SA also organizes
frequent social events, such as pizza and volleyball parties, designed
to bring the student researchers together in a more relaxed
environment.
