Biography:Mike Mazzola is a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University in 1990, following a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1986 and his B.S. degree in 1984 both from Old Dominion University.

Since 2000, Dr. Mazzola has been an Approved Mississippi University Research Authority (MRUA) petitioner asscoiated with SemiSouth Laboratories, Inc. During 2005 - 2007, he took a leave of absence from MSU to serve as the Vice President for Technology and Chief Technology Officer for SemiSouth.

Dr. Mazzola has published more than 70 papers and has been awarded 8 patents and is a member of the IEEE Electron Devices Society, IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society, and the IEEE Power Electronics Society. Dr. Mazzola is a professional engineer registered in the state of Mississippi.


Research Interest: Dr. Mazzola has made engineering contributions in several technical areas including semiconductor devices and their applications in power electronics as well as pulsed power technology. He has conducted research in the areas of silicon carbide device prototyping and semiconductor materials growth and characterization for the last 14 years.
