|Biography:||Derek Irby has developed virtual reality and scientific visualization applications since joining HPCC (formally the ERC) in 1998. He has created desktop and immersive 3D applications for multiple departments across campus and various national funding agencies. Highlights include creating a LiDAR-based virtual forest to aid in forest management, an interactive visualization to demonstrate river flooding impact, and interactive tracking system for observing WISDOM balloons and UAS planes. Derek routinely showcases HPCC visualization efforts by providing demonstrations to K-12 students, prospective students and faculty, and funding agencies.|
