|Biography:||Dr. Lugo received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University, M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, and B.S. in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Instituto Tecnologico de Pachuca, Mexico. His academic background is in mechanical design, solid mechanics, and fatigue and fracture mechanics. He joined to the Engineering Mechanics and Materials Science Research Group at CAVS in 2010 where he is currently an Assistant Research Professor. Prior to coming to MSU Dr. Lugo has held faculty positions as an Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor at Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico, from 1985-2005. His primary research is to develop microstructure-sensitive multiscale damage and fatigue material models to predict the mechanical behavior in order to optimize mechanical designs. |
|Research Interest: ||Multiscale modeling, solid mechanics, fatigue and fracture mechanics, damage evolution, mechanical behavior of materials, finite element analysis, stress analysis, numerical modeling of fatigue crack growth, and acoustic emission to predict damage in metal alloys.|
