|Biography:||Teresia Buza (maiden: Mrema) was born in Moshi district, Kilimanjaro region, Tanzania. She is Permanent resident in the USA. She has three children, Joe (MSU alumni 2012 - Computer Science), Janeth (MSU alumni 2012 - Finance) & Steve (MSU Freshman 2014 - Computer science).|
Teresia Buza received her:
B.S. in Crop Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania
M.S. in Horticulture from University of Nairobi, Kenya
Ph.D. in Veterinary Medical Sciences from Mississippi State University.
Certificate of Computational Biology from Mississippi State University.
|Research Interest: ||Her major research interests focus on:|
Using her computational biology & bioinformatics skills to make biological sense out of high-throughput data generated from ‘omics experiments (genomics, transcriptomics & proteomics).
Developing databases, user-friendly tools and educational resource to facilitate disease biomarker discoveries in non-model animals. She is currently building a database of animal disease-related microRNAs for use by animal and veterinary research communities.
